    The Most Wearable Fall Trends

Fall is my favourite season for fashion. It requires beautiful knits, layering, darker and richer colours, coats, boots, and new trends! It’s such a lovely sartorial revival to the start of a new season.

Every fall new fashion trends are announced and there are some that make me melt as they are so beautiful and some that make me laugh at how unwearable they are. Hello Gym Shorts?

I decided to round up the most wearable fall fashion trends and how to wear some of the questionable ones. I would love to hear your favourites in the comments below!

Silk scarves are this season’s favourite accessory! The easiest way to stay current is to try any one of these trends tied around your neck, hair, or purse.

    Western Boots & Americana

I’ve decided to combine these trends into one because I think they have a lot in common. The point of this trend is to celebrate all things traditionally Western and American. We are talking about cowboy boots which is the main trend item along with charming patchwork and patterns reminiscent of the prairies.

How to Wear: If cowboy boots aren’t your thing participate by wearing feminine plaid piece, a patchwork dress, or channel your inner school marm and pair a high-neck blouse with jeans. You can never go wrong with a western-inspired floral dress and suede boots.

    Polka Dots

This is easily the most wearable trend and definitely the sweetest. Polka dots grow up this season when seen on silk blouses and midi dresses and become playful and sweet in pastels.

How to Wear: I love a miniature polka dot! It’s timeless and mature. But if you’re feeling fun try adding a new colour to your wardrobe! A pastel-blue polka dot blouse can fit into your work wardrobe seamlessly.

    Checks & Plaid

Let’s move on to a more sophisticated pattern, checks or plaid. If you didn’t get that checkered blazer last fall it’s time to get one this season. It’s officially a long-wearing trend when we see a pattern last for a full fashion year.

How to Wear: Checks are in so many different forms this season making it a very easy to wear trend. Try out a blazer paired with basics or a pretty top to wear with jeans. If you’re feeling bold Spice up your closet with some checked pants which are my favourite way to wear this trend.

    Gloss & Major metallic

One of the best parts about dressing for Fall is the new textures: knits, wool, leather, etc. all come out to play when it gets colder so why not add a new one? I would like to introduce gloss as a trend for Fall! This trend has appeared before with different names: the wet look, etc. But for fall we are looking at a more sophisticated name along with textures such as patent leather.

How to Wear: Stay shiny with a more wearable alternative: metallic! Metallic are fashion’s secret neutral. It literally goes with EVERYTHING! Just think of your jewelry, a gold necklace goes with 99% of your clothing so why wouldn’t gold boots? Be bold with large impacts of gloss or unassuming with some pretty patent.

    PINK

Pink is one of my favourite colours so seeing it all over the stores for Fall makes me a happy shopper. My own wish list contains many pink items and it’s the first trend I’ve indulged in this season.

How to Wear: Pink looks amazing when worn with brown so bring out the caramels, cognacs, chocolates for a delicious combo. I plan to pair my pink knits with dark denim and my chocolate-coloured Claude Bag.

    Animal print

The animal print trend started in the summer and was made popular by the coveted leopard silk skirt by Realisation Par. For fall leopard is still the most popular choice but no animal print is off limits! We are seeing crocodile, and snakeskin and worn right it can look really luxe.

How to Wear: If you like to wear a lot of neutrals and basics, adding 1 animal print piece like a pair of shoes or purse will literally go with everything in your wardrobe! Imagine wearing all black with a leopard print scarf – so chic! For extra cool points pair a leopard skirt with a graphic tee.
