I like to think of myself as a nightgown expert. I’ve fallen head over heels over this soft sleepwear ever since I tried it for the first time a year and a half ago. It brings me a lot of joy to wear a pretty and soft nightgown to bed and it definitely adds a little romance to breakfast no matter the state of my hair. It’s almost Valentine’s Day and I wanted to suggest the Caroline nightgown by Hill House Home as a gift. Whether it’s for yourself or someone else this is a really lovely and super affordable style. The Hill House Home has become the place to get your first nightgown and they have a million styles to choose from. Shop my favourites below!

    The Caroline

When I bought the Caroline I was looking for a short-sleeved nightgown that had a high elastic neck and arms. I had previously worn and loved my Dôen Lovisa – a sleeveless high-neck gown, my Dôen Slate nightgown which is a sleeveless non-stretch lace gown and my Solaris which is a romantic long-sleeved gown with no elastic. I’ve also tried short nightgowns (Dôen Angelou and Chateau styles) which I wasn’t in love with. All of these nightgowns are cotton voile or poplin and while I didn’t have a preference for the fabric I really wanted something long with elastic sleeves and a high neck as we were heading into Fall.

    Pros

The style! I love the style of this gown so much. I find the length and elastic sleeves and neck very practical and comfortable.

Opaque. This nightgown is opaque and while I have and love semi-sheer gowns I know a lot of people prefer something that isn’t see-thru.

Comfortable! I love a long nightgown but when you’re sleeping it can pull on your neck and arms as you move. Because this has elastic sleeves and neckline it’s comfortable and I can move with ease.

    Cons

Fabric. This gown is made of a poplin cotton which some people don’t love because it’s a fabric that makes sound when you move. However they do have other fabrics available. It is also cool to the touch which I don’t love but it’s nice if you tend to overheat when sleeping.

Elastic. Initially the elastic sleeves were too tight on my arms but they relaxed quickly with wear.

I hope you enjoyed this review and can find a nightgown that you love!
