I recently read that clothing is comfort. This doesn’t seem like a new idea but given the circumstances we face today, this message takes on a new meaning. We put on clothes everyday and even though our days are more casual I think it’s important to keep getting dressed intentionally. As a stay at home mom and blogger, fashion has always helped me through my day. In the morning I’ll be knee deep in cleaning up breakfast, egg-stained footie pyjamas, and washing yogurt off our dog, and I can put on a great pair of jeans and feel energized. I can take on whatever the day brings when I put on a good uniform. Getting dressed into an outfit is also a great tip for working from home if you’re looking for one. My husband taught me this trick as an entrepreneur whose always worked for himself. Fashion can get your day started. So whether you’re not leaving your living room, taking your dog on a (social-distancing-safe) walk, or watching your kids play in your backyard wear something that makes you feel good and gets you through the day. We can do this well and we can do this well-dressed.
Right now my outfits start with a good pair of jeans. I love these cheeky straight jeans from Everlane because they’re high-waisted which suits my style and is perfect for those floor diaper changes. I also loved the relaxed fit, with stretch of course, which is just plain comfortable. I normally don’t try buying jeans online because my bottom half is hard to fit but I love how Everlane shows their jeans styles on four different-sized models.
