Jumpsuits are a trend that is everywhere this summer. I’ve seen so many cute versions of it so I was excited to find one I loved. Jumpsuits can be tricky to fit because it has to be functional for your entire body. Add the fact that I’m 5’3″, 8 months pregnant and I definitely have a “fashion challenge” on my hands. I’m always up for a challenge and after a lot of shopping was super happy to find this jumpsuit from Hatch. I’ve mentioned a few times on here and instagram that I’m avoiding maternity-specific clothing so I can wear any items I buy during pregnancy after I have my sweet baby boy. Hatch is a maternity brand but their pieces are designed to be worn before during and after pregnancy. (Stay tuned to find out how this jumpsuit works postpartum). I first tried them on in NYC and super impressed so I had to go to the pop-up in Toronto where I found this Noelle jumpsuit. (See my video at the bottom of this post for the full Hatch shopping trip). If you’re new to the jumpsuit or haven’t found the right one I have a few tips below that will help you find the perfect one!
If you’re intimidated or apprehensive to try the jumpsuit trend chances are it’s because of the sheer amount of fabric you have to get used to wearing. Jumpsuits can easily look like children’s pyjamas so try something short-sleeved or in shorts-form like a playsuit. A off-the-should or spaghetti strap jumpsuit can be really chic.
A jumpsuit in a silky sweet fabric in a wide leg can trick your eye to looking like a dress. This can also be a very flattering silhouette and definitely perfect for hot weather and resort vacations!
Adding accessories to your jumpsuit can be the biggest difference. When we go shopping we likely aren’t wearing necklaces, earrings, or scarves, and don’t have our entire arsenal of bags and shoes handy to try-on. I often sit in a change room looking through photos of my outfits to remind myself what accessories I already own that could work. Accessories can make a look so if the store has jewelry or belts available to try, have a fun time styling! Also if you’re able to return the jumpsuit easily take it home to try on in your own space with your own well-loved accessories.
