Dôen’s first Fall release is finally here! The brand shot their look book at the gorgeous Chateau Gudanes – a chateau in the south of France that is undergoing renovation. The site is a perfect location for Dôen’s continuous vintage inspiration and imperfect casual style. Beautiful silks, cottons, and handmade knits were shot inside the rooms with ripped but ornate wallpaper, and outside in a vast and wild landscape. You can tell this place was once grand enough to be a museum but the charm of the unfinished space make it a little bit more likeable.
The clothes are beautiful. All week Dôen has been teasing these pieces including inspiration and images of the chateau itself letting their customers feel the romance of the collection. We saw images of studio spaces, architecture, candid photos of important women, colours, and textures. This is the first instalment of their three-part Fall collection which shows how inspired the brand was. I think I speak for all of when I say I’m happy reap the benefits of the abundance.

My wish list has been changing often. I battle my love for every.single.piece with the practical part of my brain that tells me I can’t live in dresses in our -25 degree Canadian weather. Below are my favourites of the entire collection but my wish list is much shorter and happens to include items from their to-be-released parts 1 and 2.

On instagram I posted photos from September Vogue’s magazine where quilted jackets were paired with dresses. I have so many beautiful dresses from their spring and summer collection that I hope to wear them into the next few months with help of sweaters, jackets, and boots. I’m excited to try the short or long version of this coat. I’m also 99% sure it’s reversible with a plain blue fabric facing the other side making it a very versatile piece.
Last year my boot budget went to Sézane but this year I only have eyes for the suede beauties Dôen has been teasing us with. My two favourites are the Cannes boot – the brown knee high boots that pair so well with their dresses. And the Aurelie which is a black ankle boot with a kitten heel and bow which seems birthed from their prague mules.
I’m officially obsessed with Dôen’s nightgowns ever since I got my Lovisa one. It is absolutely dreamy and my favourite thing to wear. I would love to grab a long-sleeved version for the colder months or one of thicker fabric like the poplin Vivette.
Once you get your hands on Dôen’s knits you’ll never look back. I would love one that would pair well with my dresses but haven’t decided how to layer this season. I love their upcoming turtlenecks under my dresses but their chunky knits are also beautiful. The question is, which length? Dôen has given us plenty of options and ideas on how to wear our dresses into fall. What’s your favourite?
