There’s been a lot of graphic tees that I’ve loved: L’amant (the Lover), The Born in the 70s/80s/90s series, New York Cheri, La Femme, Demain, and La Superbe, Bonjour Monsieur and I recently bought, Bonjour Madame. La Superbe is one of the first graphic t-shirts that Sézane founder, Morgane Sezalory, produced. It was also part of the collaboration with Madewell where they made it into a sweatshirt. When Sézane re-released it with profits going to their Demain project I was so excited to have a piece of history! BUT it was only available online to France residents. I was sad but I could see how they wanted to be loyal to their country and customers who have been there from the beginning.
When the Andiamo collection released I saw this t-shirt popping out at the bottom of the page under the, “You may also like” section. I DO LIKE! And it was available internationally! I looked on their instagram and in their News section and a restock was not advertised. What a lucky find!
The Augusta originally came in a cotton “cashmere” print (on the Abby top here) and a silk black 60s flowers gold print (also seen on the Abby here). When I saw this dress on their gorgeous model I thought it was cute but wouldn’t be flattering on my short frame. I love searching the #sezane hashtag on instagram to see everyone’s new orders and someone from France showed the black 60s flowers gold and it was GORGEOUS! I was surprised and assumed she was tall but double checked the sizing tab on the Augusta dress page and the model is 5’6″! I’m 5’3″ so I felt like this dress was officially back on my list. I already ordered the Abby Top in the cashmere print and I was interested in a different black dress from Dôen so I just admired this dress through others. When the Augusta Dress came back in the summer collection I was so excited! I was even more excited about the sweet pastel rainbow print! I showed it to my husband who said, “that dress is very you.” So it’s officially on it’s way! Sézane suggests to go down if between sizes and in my experience that plainly means it fits big. I did get it in my regular size because a smaller size is sold out so we will see how it works. I like taking my clothing to get tailored to fit me better and the straps are adjustable so I think it will turn out perfect!
This t-shirt has always been on my list since it’s spring debut but I don’t have any experience with Sézane’s t-shirts and I wasn’t sure about the colour options- black or white, so it stayed on my list. On my recent trip to New York City I went to Sézane and asked if they happened to have this t-shirt. I expected a “no” because it wasn’t on the floor in any form but the salesperson magically brought out two in my size in both black and and white. I have a video showing my shopping trip and this t-shirt on and it’s soooo pretty but the problem was the back was so low it showed my bra. I left it behind knowing Nordstrom had it in stock so I could send it to my husband in a month when he went on his next trip. I kept thinking about it and when I got home from the trip noted my bra collection and how I had a bra that would show but had a pretty lace low-key back. Nordstrom sadly sold out so when I saw that this was back in stock in Sézane I snapped it up. As for sizing I tried on the small the first day and the extra small the second day (yes I went to Sézane twice) hoping for a change in the rise of the v-back and there honestly wasn’t a big difference between the two. I ordered a small in this from Sézane. HOT TIP: Sézane restocks and puts returns back online Wednesday mornings 10am France time so that’s the best time to look for items that are currently sold out.
Yes I actually ordered something with colour! This is the only item I bought that I haven’t thought of for weeks. But after trying on their t-shirts in Sézane’s NYC store I had better sense of sizing so I got this one in size small. I just love the design detail they put on the back of the clothing and I also couldn’t resist the Italian name! The only problem I had was picking out the right colour. Their nude/pink isn’t the most flattering colour on me and as much as I looooved the black t-shirt, especially the multi-coloured braid, I needed to add another colour into my summer wardrobe.
Before I was officially obsessed with Sézane, I visited their store in Paris where I discovered how much they like to spoil their customers. I went on December 1st which happened to be the first day of their advent program and left with many free treats including a tote bag, a pouch and a branded velvet notebook. It was my favourite shopping experience ever! After following Sézane for a while I discovered these little treats came pretty often particularly in forms of tote bags and they’re a bit of a collector’s item! The stunning tote bag seen above will be sent with my order and I’m so excited to receive it! This print looks like a magnified and bolder version of the “blue leaves” print from their summer collection! So beautiful!
