In one day I’m going to New York City for the very first time! My husband and I are taking our first trip away WITHOUT KIDS! It’s fun and scary as I’ve never been away from my youngest daughter this long but Wes and I are looking forward to reconnecting, sleeping in(!!!), and just having a great time out after 6pm! And all the parents say “amen!”

Leading up to this trip I tried my hardest to save up (I splurged on the bag in this video because it was a great opportunity) BUT otherwise I’ve turned my gaze from Zara online to my own closet. Has anyone else gone on a clothing diet? I’ve had a great time rediscovering the classics. Nothing is more timeless than a white button down shirt and jeans.

My shirt is from Zara and I have it in two sizes – the extra small here which looks good tucked in (tricky because it’s long). I also have it in small which I used to death in the summer as my favourite beach coverup.  The length is perfect because it covers your bum (perfect bathing suit cover-up) but it also works tucked in (seen below) and left out to peek underneath a great sweater. My jeans are the ones mentioned in my post here and I cannot get enough of them. My shoes are Zara from last season but I have a link to similar ones in my ‘shop the post’ below and my classic bag is from the Canadian and vegan line, Matt & Nat.  All links can be found in the carousel below.

Catch up with me in New York on instagram here !  Look out for a vlog and lookbook video on my YouTube channel next week.
