I’ve been pinning my favourite images over the last few months and have been trying to hone in on what I would like our space to look and feel like. Below are some of my favourite spaces. You can find these and more on my pinterest.

It’s hard to label my style but I like picture frame moulding, both modern and classic furniture, a lot of texture, PINK, and both classic and modern lighting. For colours, Wes and I have always loved pink. My east-facing office and Lux’s bedroom were painted Opal by Benjamin Moore which is considered an off-white with subtle peach undertones. If you’re looking for a room to GLOW this is it. For our new home we would love to try a more sophisticated colour so we will be exploring more earthy pinks like you see in my inspo pic above. Otherwise we have always loved black and gold/brass metals for the drama they bring, brown is always involved with leather furniture, and I’m thinking about blue as an accent colour. Our new floors have a bit of red in them so our challenge will be balancing out the warmness of those.

    Our First Purchase

Our first purchase has been a leather sectional! One of the items we have been craving is a big couch that our family can sprawl out on. We love leather for it’s durability and how practical it is for our young family. Specifically I was looking for a medium brown, modern-looking sofa where the cushions didn’t come off. Two reasons for cushions that stayed sewn in are: it looks neater and my kids won’t be able use the cushions as forts (it’s a pet peeve of mine and the kids will have plenty of fort material in the new basement).

Leather sectional, L-shaped Leather sectional from Heritage Furniture, A Canadian furniture store | Kait Bos Blog

I’ve been visiting our sectional since our house hunt began so we’ve been seeing each other for about 6 months now haha. We decided on a leather sectional from Heritage Furniture, a local store in Burlington, Ontario. Everyone in our family has pieces of furniture from Heritage and we love their quality and customer service so it was a no-brainer for us to buy from them. We decided on the Stallone sectional (above) which will be arriving in August. While the styling of this couch is pretty traditional it has modern lines which we really love and I can’t wait to style it to our taste. The picture above shows the four-piece option and we ordered the five-piece which is an additional middle seat. Each piece is leather all the way around and has clips to attach that come out of the bottom of the couch so we can pull out a middle piece and use it as a stand alone lounge chair! We love the versatility of this sectional! Below are a few more couches we considered and similar ones to what we bought.
