My husband and I go out on our “date night” every week. I am not a food critic but I decided to make a list of my favourite places that we have gone in Hamilton since we’ve been to so many! We live closer to James North so we favour this area as we can walk to our dates but we have some favourites in other parts of the city. If you’re in the Hamilton area and are looking for new places to go out check out the list for you below. Bookmark this for future reference and Bon Appetit!
Nique is our favourite hands down. They’re always adding new items to the menu, the atmosphere is intimate, and the servers are lovely human beings. Sit at the bar and watch the sushi nachos being made (they’re delicious!) or try their classic Heritage Pork with sides that change with the season. It’s always always ALWAYS delicious. You will never be bored going to Nique.
What I’m wearing: Sézane Dress (sold out, similar) Zara Purse (sold out, similar) Shoes
This is our go-to for special occasions. Located on Locke Street, Brux house is simply special with it’s gorgeous interior and delicious food. We love the house-made pretzels and fries with curry ketchup.
When Wes and I are in the mood for pizza this is our go-to. The Monte Pollino pizza is my husband’s favourite dish and I love Nonna’s Meatballs. We always receive the best service when we dine here.
This is the gorgeous restaurant pictured. Wes and I attended The Diplomat on opening night and were treated like family. Every inch of the space is stunning and has room for large gatherings including weddings!
This bar is our casual date-night go-to. Work Progress serves up amazing nachos (add the pork!). They also have delicious ramen if you can believe it. It’s a bar that’s more than it appears which makes it a hidden gem.
Easily the prettiest restaurant and patio in the city, The French definitely transports you to the city of love. Sit on their patio and enjoy their delicious charcuterie plate and a drink.
My husband and I have two main favourites: charcuterie and oysters. Amazingly, that’s what makes up the menu at Two Black Sheep. They have an oyster happy hour and serve up super cool cocktails for a very memorable meal.
When we go out for a dinner with a large number of people our favourite casual place is Charred on James North. They serve a simple chicken dinner family style which is simply delicious. Who doesn’t like chicken?
I hope you enjoyed this post! Like I said there are still tons of restaurants to visit. If you have any to add please comment below for others to read!
