It’s Fall! It’s time for jeans, seasonal lattes and SWEATERS! I’ve been purchasing slowly as we approach colder weather for a few reasons: I have a lot of beautiful knitwear already, I’m waiting for Dôen to release their Fall line, and I’m thinking about saving up for other brands (Sea, Babaà).
Sézane is one of my favourite brands for knitwear so now is my favourite time to add their pieces to my wardrobe. During their pre-fall launch I decided to purchase the Betty Jacket below and the Leontine (blog post coming soon). Neither of these styles are brand new designs but they are and have been well-loved by other Sezanettes for a few months which is a good way to know you’re getting a great piece.
I’ve admired the Betty Jacket for a while ( I think it came out last year) so I was happy to add it to my wardrobe this year. I found it so interesting that they call it a “jacket” but style it as a sweater tucked in online. When I got it I was happy to discover it works so well as both! Through some magic way (perhaps the tightness of the knit) it has a surprising amount of structure (swipe to see a close up of the shape) which makes it behave very well as a jacket. The shape, the length and the style all work nicely together as a layering piece. It functions perfectly as a jacket and somehow isn’t bulky. You can button it up and tuck it in and it doesn’t have that bulge in the front that some sweaters do. Again MAGIC. I wanted it to fit like the model so I went with a medium and I’m so happy with the result.
