I’m so excited to share that Wes and I bought a new home! I’ve been quiet online the past nine months because we’ve been working towards finding a house and it was more work than I had ever thought. The work it takes to find a home, and prepare your own for selling, all while taking care of your family (we pulled our son from daycare in the new year) in such an uncertain time proved to be a part-time job.
We also faced a lot of challenges with the housing market. While we were financially prepared and had a solid budget the competition was incredible. At the time we were searching, a house would be listed with offers held until a certain date and it sold in competition, all in under a week. We lost out on four houses this way and even though that doesn’t sound like a lot it was heartbreaking every time.
After our many attempts we finally got our house! The night we were making our offer I was hanging by my phone waiting for a rejection text from our realtor and she showed up at 9pm with a bottle of champagne to tell us the good news! Reflecting on the past houses, this one was definitely the best one for us. We are over-the-moon excited and can’t wait to move after the end of school!
I’m happy to be in the next stage of excitement, planning and packing! Our home luckily sold quickly and for above asking so Wes and I set aside a nice decor and renovation budget. We have a plan for each room and I’m excited to share the process here.
Stick around for my next post for my home inspo, our first purchase and items I have my eye on!
